There’s been a lot of debate lately about whether or not we should improve sex education in our schools. Many more conservative states have actually declined Federal money to teach comprehensive sex education in schools, opting instead to teach abstinence-only
curriculum as their sex education program. As it turns out, this totally
doesn’t work at all. The states that utilize abstinence-only sex
education programs have the highest teen pregnancy rates in the nation,
and the states that teach a comprehensive sex education curriculum
(including information about birth control and STD’s) have the lowest
rates of teen pregnancy. Teenagers are going to have sex no matter what
their gym teacher tells them to do, so educating them in safe sexual
activity is of the utmost importance. Here’s an awesomely informative
